The dates for the first set of lessons for 2012 are now posted on this web under the Group Coaching and Junior pages. The lessons are for new beginners, who are not members of the club, through to our highly successful junior members.
Book early to avoid disappointment.
Wednesday 14th December saw the second Winter Open of Leamington & County’s 2011/2012 season on a brisk winter’s morning. The event again was well supported by golfers from across the county who, despite the temperature, were rewarded with a golf course again in fantastic condition from tee to green.
Still, with the putting surfaces rolling true scoring was proving difficult with the course showing its teeth in the challenging breeze. This was reflected in the early 18 hole scores as only a handful of players had scored more than 30 points, it seemed the player who would ‘hang in there’ may well prevail.
The eventual winning score of 38 points was shared by four players who all coincidently came in towards the end of the field. The winner by virtue of a count-back score on the last 6 holes was Phil Garner of Leamington & County. Well done Phil.
On behalf of the club we would like to thank everyone who took part and made the day possible. Many thanks must also go to the Pro Shop staff Julian Mellor and Lee Brotherhood for their hard work in the organising the event, club Captain Phil Halford for handicaps and the bar and catering staff for their fabulous food and hospitality.

The formal events of the Grey Nags season drew to a close recently with the November Trophy Presentations and the Christmas Lunch.
Gentlemen will of course still be found on the first tee around 7:00 p.m. on Thursday mornings . . . .
