Centenary Lounge Opens For Business

The new Centenary lounge opened for official business on Friday 4th June 2010 thanks to the efforts of members. With the ever increasing pressure on the clubs finances we have had to look at ways to increase the clubs income. The decision was taken that we should look at hosting weddings and private functions. In doing this we were abundantly aware that we needed to provide members with a comfortable area in which to eat and relax.

At an open forum in November 2009 members kindly offered their services to transform the old dayroom/snooker room into the new Centenary lounge. Their offer was taken up and you can all see the excellent result.

The total cost for the room was £11500.

In addition Pete Bench suggested we have a large TV in the lounge and found 60 or so members to contribute £10 each to buy the TV. There are also pictures around the room of the course.

Eventually we hope to have a small patio and chairs leading from the Centenary lounge to the car park. The final piece in the jigsaw will be to complete the media room within the Centenary lounge which can be used for club meetings and also let for corporate functions.

Thank you to;

Signal Construction, Partridge Electrical, Crawford and Reading, Dennis Kehoe, Pete Easterlow, John Alsopp, Sue Illingworth, Pete Bench plus members, David Beck and his team.

PLEASE COME TO THE NEXT OPEN EVENING 6TH OCTOBER 2010 AT 7.00PM AND MAYBE WE CAN GET SOME OTHER PROJECTS/IDEAS ACTIONED.
