MAGRATH CUP
Six-handicapper Bill Evans shot a round of 74 to win the Magrath Cup at Leamington & County Golf Club.
The 36-hole competition which was played over 2 weekends, the top 40 and equals qualified for the second round played last Sunday. Bill produced birdies at the 1st, 4th, 5th and 9th holes in the outward nine. He recorded another at the 10th and although he bogied the 17th and 18th his score of 74-6-68 was good enough to win by 2 shots from Bernard Kirwan (19) who returned a two round total of 141.

JUNIOR COACHING
Do your children play golf or would they like to try it?
We are running a course of lessons for you in our indoor academy and practice field. Come and meet other youngsters who are interested in playing the game.
Parents and Grandparents we are looking for young people aged 6 yrs old and above who would like to come and have some fun learning to play golf.
The Skills Challenge and Golf Passport are included, all equipment provided
Lee Brotherhood is a level 3 professional and is running the junior programme.
The programme starts on Saturday September 18th and runs for 6 weeks.
Times: 1:00 pm Experienced players
2:00pm Girl improvers
3:00pm Beginners
If necessary more groups will be added
Cost: £24 (£4 a week)

New Sessions of Ladies Coaching...Book Early!
Again this Autumn the ladies section of Leamington & County Golf Club are working with Julian Mellor, the club professional, to arrange coaching sessions.
Now whether you have never tried golf or had some lessons before or are really quite good, there is a group for you...
The lessons will include group practical sessions in the indoor Academy, on the practice ground and on the course plus informal coffee sessions to explain the rules and etiquette of the game. We have an excellent indoor facility so the weather will not stop us!

of the town centre of Royal Leamington Spa in Whitnash where
the road to the course, aptly named Golf Lane, is well signposted.
It also is within five minutes of the M40. Twenty minutes
drive will get you to Stratford-on-Avon and very close nearby
is historic Warwick.
Founded to satisfy the golfing needs of the thriving
Victorian Spa by Town Councillors and leading citizens
- the first Club President was Hugh de Grey, Marquess
of Hereford and he was followed by Francis Richard Charles
Guy, Earl of Warwick and Francis Dudley, Lord Leigh.

parkland terrain and measures a testing 6418 yards from the
white tees.
The present day course layout by Hawtree
& Son is a redesign of the original links built almost
100 years ago.
