A cold March morning!
Grey Nags’ Captain David Cowan reports . . .
‘The first fixture for the Grey Nags this year was the first of our two matches against the Ladies.
The preceding weekend had been very wet but by the Thursday the course had dried out enough to play. The subsequent weekend in which there was total ‘whiteout’ subsequently proved what a well organised group we are in slotting in the match on that day.
Lady Captain Jill Thorpe’s absence was noted but Felicity Carless was an able deputy both on and off the course, and a good time was had by one and all.
The outcome was an emphatic win for the men but that was no thanks to those men who were first off the tee, soundly beaten by the Carless and Brown duo.
The experimental carvery meal was well received with a single exception who did not eat meat!
The only downside was some slow play – to be avoided in future – please.’
