Protecting Our Future

During December 2010 you may have noticed that the central lines of Poplars on the left side of the 1st fairway and between the 1st and 9th fairways have been removed. This is part of our 5 year plan for the course.

Poplars have a limited life span and we need to plant a mixture of trees to protect the future definition of the holes on our course. New trees have now been planted replacing the removed poplars. The chosen trees are Hornbeam. These trees should be large enough to maintain hole definition when the remaining poplars are at the end of their life. This is estimated to be approx 25 years – good luck to all those who will see them then!!
